Reitsma is 59th Princess Kay

Christine Reitsma, 17, Sauk Centre, Stearns County was crowned Princess Kay of the Milky Way Aug. 22 at Leinie Lodge Bandshell at the Minnesota State fairgrounds.

Reitsma is the first Princess Kay from Stearns County in the program's 59 years.

The top three finalists were Reitsma, Kelsey Mussman of Steele County and Victoria Haler of Carver County.

Reitsma, Mussman, Laura Rosenhammer of Brown County received $500 scholarships from Midwest Dairy Association.

Mussman was also named Miss Congeniality.

Princess Kay's first duty is to sit in the butter cooler tomorrow to have her likeness carved into a 90 pound block of butter.
