National Pedal Pull winners announced

MITCHELL, S.D. — Minnesota young people earned 30 of the 90 trophies awarded at the National Pedal Pull held Sept. 26 in Mitchell, S.D.
“I thought we did excellent,” said Don Oechsle of Fairmont, Minn., vice president of the National Pedal Pull Association. “I’m very proud of our kids. We can be very proud of our kids and the parents who took them.”
Trophies are awarded to the top five finishers in each division. A total of 371 children from 17 states participated in the pedal pull, Oechsle said.
The trophies range from about 2 feet tall for fifth place to 3 feet tall for first place.
National winners from Minnesota and Iowa: Four-year-old girls, Kylie Blom, Atwater, Minn., second place; Erika Brenny, Rice, Minn., fourth place. Four-year-old boys, Logan Sweere, Sunburg, Minn., fifth place.
Five-year-old girls, Tifani Dessner, Eyota, Minn., first place; Leah Kramersmeier, Buffalo Lake, Iowa, third place. Five-year-old boys, Joshua Hummer, Pemberton, Minn., first place; Grady Schott, Lewiston, Minn., fourth.
Six-year-old girls, Adrianna Buboltz, Buffalo Lake, Minn., first. Six-year-old boys, Andrew Frank, Owatonna, Minn., second; Wayne Kauffman, Hawkeye, Iowa, third; Zackary Holtz, South Haven, Minn., fifth.
Seven-year-old girls: Grace Minten, Perham, Minn., second; Greta Erickson, Otsego, Minn., fourth. Seven-year-old boys: Logan Abrahamson, Montevideo, Minn., first; Clay Rollins, Claremont, Minn., second; Kyle Barringer, Rice, Minn., fifth.
Eight-year-old girls: Betty Strohman, Mallard, Iowa, second; Hailey Gill, Alexandria, Minn., fifth. Eight-year-old boys: Travis Yahnke, Carlos, Minn., fourth; Cody Conklin, Grand Rapids, Minn., fifth.
Nine-year-old girls: Hayley Dessner, Eyota, Minn., first; Molly Youngblom, Litchfield, Minn., second; Emily Troyer, Solon, Iowa, fourth; Jacque Anderson, Staples, Minn., fifth. Nine-year-old boys: Zakariah Karels, Waverly, Minn., first; Thomas O\'Malley, Montevideo, Minn., second; Wyatt Stumpf, Hills, Iowa, fifth.
Ten-year-old girls: Morgan Hemmesch, Richmond, Minn., second; Mikayla Miller-Zuehlke, Mankato, Minn., third. Ten-year-old boys: Reilley Brown, Waterville, Minn., second; Justin Koepp, St. Cloud, Minn., fourth.
