Holstein Supreme Champion at Youth Classic

WEST UNION, Iowa —Travis Kelly of Fayette showed the Supreme Champion at the Youth Classic Dairy Show held Sept. 16 at the Fayette County fairgrounds in West Union.
The cow is a three-year-old Holstein named 126. The show's reserve Supreme Champion was Austin Knapp's three-year-old Guernsey, Knapps Challenge Reb. Knapp is from Epworth.
Supreme Junior champion was an Ayrshire senior calf, Covey P&A Reality Jamaica, shown by Cole Kruse of Dyersville. The day before the heifer was Supreme Junior Champion and Iowa Supreme Champion Dairy Heifer Scholarship Show winner at the National Cattle Congress Youth Dairy Show in Waterloo.
Reserve Supreme Junior Champion was a spring yearling Holstein, Terra-McCree G-Chance, shown by Ryan Connelly of Rochester, Minn. Honorable mention went to Kelli Steinlage of West Union, who showed a summer yearling Jersey, Enniskillen Regan Suzy.
Grand Champion Ayrshire was an aged cow, Bar-Vue BBK Goldy, shown by Kaleb Kruse of Dyersville. Reserve was an aged cow, Oak Valley's Leader Zoey, shown by Samantha Rathjen of Dewitt.
Grand Champion Brown Swiss was two-year-old Onword Fame Velda shown by Nathan Arthur of Sumner. Kathryn Appler of Clermont showed the Reserve Champion, an aged cow, Scenic Ridge Agenda Mayme.
Grand Champion Guernsey, Knapps Challenge Reb, was shown by Austin Knapp of Epworth. Reserve Champion, a summer yearling, Knapps Mento Harley, was shown by Landen Knapp of Epworth.
Grand Champion Holstein, three-year-old 126, was shown by Travis Kelly of Fayette. Reserve Champion was two-year-old Lindale Alexander Joelene shown by Scott Stempfle of Maynard.
Nick Drinkall of Lanesboro, Minn., showed both top Jerseys. His aged cow Drinkall Char Popcycle was Grand Champion. Three-year-old Ferdinand Dill was Reserve Champion.
Three-year-old Lan-Sing Hill Advnt Hilary, shown by Nashua Lansing of West Union, was Grand Champion Milking Shorthorn. Lansing's two-year-old Lan-Sing Hill Lirianos VT EXP was Reserve Champion.
Junior Showmanship Champion was Carter Kruse of Dyersville. Reserve Champion was Brinlee Volker of Sumner. Intermediate Showmanship Champion was Landen Knapp with reserve going to Cole Kruse of Dyersville.
Senior Showmanship winner was Austin Knapp of Epworth. Reserve went to Robin Kim of Waucoma.
Adam Bodensteiner of Fairbank won the Exhibitor Award. Reserve went to Samantha Rathjen of DeWitt.
Katie Steinlage was show superintendent and co-chair was Cameron Hall. They were assisted by Iowa State University Extension and North Fayette FFA.
Judges were Scott Metzger of Sioux Center and Dave Koss of Epworth.
