FFA members test skills in Career Development Events

AMES, Iowa —Many north Iowa FFA chapters finished first or second in Career Development Events at last week's Iowa FFA Leadership Conference.

In the Ag Broadcasting Leadership Event, first place individual was Katie Goodell from the Harris-Lake Park FFA Chapter at Lake Park. Her agriculture education instructor is Randy Nicks.

Placing first in Ag Career and Science Investigation was Clay Central FFA at Everly. Team members are Katrina McCarty, Tari Knock, Dayton Brugman, Henry Rinehart and Cassie Day. Their instructor and FFA advisor is Betsy Schoelerman. The second-place chapter was the Oelwein FFA. Team members are Alli Winters, Natalie McMillan, Abbi Ryan and Dakota Clark. Their instructors are Scott Smalley and Lindsey Crawford.

In Ag Impact, Oelwein FFA earned second. Team members are Travis McMillan, Troy Rau, Brennon Ryan and Evan Suckow. Their instructors are Scott Smalley and Lindsey Crawford.

In Ag Sales, individual, Michael Gruetzmacher from Wapsie Valley FFA Chapter at Fairbank finished second. His is Ellen Doese.

For Chapter Exhibit, Hanna Wilson and her LaPorte-Dysart FFA Chapter finished first. FFA advisor is Louis Beck.

Chapter Program of Activities first place finisher was North Linn FFA at Troy Mills. Team members are Jenna Schade, Elizabeth Walling and Laura Moorman. Their agriculture education instructor is Tom Murray. Second place chapter was Oelwein FFA. Team members are Victor Kalb, Amanda Groleau and Zachery Lamphere. Their FFA advisors are Scott Smalley and Lindsey Crawford.

First place individuals for Chapter Website were Nichole Fagle and Belinda Erickson from the North Fayette FFA Chapter at West Union. Their agriculture education instructor is Ryan Holthaus.

North Fayette FFA Chapter at West Union finished second in Conduct of Meetings. Team members are Kayleigh Koch, Micheal Walvatne, Caryn Stewart, Hunter McElree, Cortney Koch, Cameron Amos and Nashua Lansing. Their agriculture education instructor is Ryan Holthaus.

First place individual in Creed Speaking was Trevor Fannon from the Edgewood-Colesburg FFA. His agriculture education instructor is Ed Wadsworth.

The first place individual in discussion was Kate Sennert from the Sioux Central FFA Chapter. Her agriculture FFA advisor is Melanie Bloom.

The first place chapter for Experience the Action was the Starmont FFA Chapter at Arlington. Team members are Nicole Zitelman, Michele Zitelman, Jacob Perkins, Kyle Jones and Jaxon Goedken. Their agriculture education instructor is Amy Burmeister.

First place individual in Job Interview was Stefanie Newhouse from the Hudson FFA Chapter. Her instructor is Dennis Deppe. The second place individual was Marena Bartz from St. Ansgar FFA. Her instructor is Andy Johnson.

Winning the Parliamentary Procedure Career Development Event was Wapsie Valley FFA at Fairbank. Team members are Lauren Ambrosy, Adam Bodensteiner, Garett Hagenow, Sydney Cindrich and Brianna Cook. Their instructor is Ellen Doese. North Fayette FFA at West Union was second. Team members are Brady Ney, Carissa Lee, Regan Wolverton, Dayle Lantzky and Kerrin Meitner. Their instructor is Ryan Holthaus.

The winning Secretary's Book was entered by Celina Young with the Waverly-Shell Rock FFA. Her instructor is David Carlson.

First place Treasurer's Book was entered by Jessie Erhardt with the Wapsie Valley FFA Chapter at Fairbank. Her instructor is Ellen Doese.

The Hudson FFA Chapter was Reserve Champion Team for Ag Communications. Team members are Stefanie Newhouse, Juliann Finn, Jenna Brandhorst and Hope Petry. Their instructor is Dennis Deppe.

Osage FFA was champion Ag Sales Team. Team members are Mitchell Longtin, Jimmy Kent, Mackenzie Fuller and Summer Neely. Their instructors are Dave Tometich and Dave Fowler.

In the Farm Business Management event, St. Ansgar FFA Chapter was the Reserve Champion Team. Members are Ryan Bissen, Hailey Meitner, Garrett Patterson, and Riley Salz. Their instructor is Andy Johnson.

Oelwein FFA Chapter finished second in Marketing Plan. Team members are Amanda Groleau, Bryan Rau, and Tyler Rau. Their instructors are Scott Smalley and Lindsey Crawford.
