FFA members earn proficiency awards

DES MOINES —Many north Iowa FFA members won Proficiency Awards at the Iowa FFA Leadership Conference in Des Moines.
Proficiency Award winners have excelled in their Supervised Agricultural Experience Programs. These awards encourage members to develop specialized skills that will apply toward a future career. State winners in national categories will advance on to the National FFA Proficiency Judging in July.
Proficiency Award winners from north Iowa are Grant Hibbing, South O'Brien FFA at Paullina, agricultural mechanics design and fabrication; Ryan Franzen, Nashua-Plainfield FFA at Nashua, agricultural mechanics repair and maintenance entrepreneurship; Holden Nyhus, Forest City FFA, agricultural sales entrepreneurship; Adriana Dubbelde, West Lyon FFA at Inwood, agricultural sales placement; Tyler Faber, Sioux Center FFA, beef production placement; Jessica Hammerand, West Dubuque FFA at Epworth, dairy production placement proficiency; Tory Mogler, West Lyon FFA, diversified agricultural production; Brittany Turnis, Cascade FFA, Environmental Science Entrepreneurship/Placement.
Also earning Proficiency Awards are Colin Barnes, South O'Brien High School at Paullina, Equine Science Placement; Zach Boss, West Delaware High School at Manchester, Fiber and/or Oil Crop Production; Kellie Walters, Clayton Ridge High School at Guttenberg, Floriculture; Abby Alberts, Oelwein FFA, Food Science and Technology; Andrew Pesek, West Delaware at Manchester, Forest Management and Products; Anna Buenneke, Oelwein FFA, Fruit Production; Dustin Bigler, Decorah FFA, Grain Production Entrepreneurship;
